Earth Hour 2008: Turn Out The Lights No matter where you're traveling or living, you can participate in Earth Hour 2008. In association with the World Wildlife Fund, Earth Hour 2008 is a global effort to turn off lights for one hour, starting at 8PM, on March 29, 2008. First done in Sydney, Australia in 2007, just one hour of lights-out reduced Sydney's power consumption by 10.2% during that hour. That's the same as taking 48,000 cars off the road for one year!
